Charlie Coetsee
Touch Wood is a one-man business based in the south of Hampshire. Charlie has been a Tree Surgeon for many years and wanted to make use of every tree felled, and preserve it's legacy.
He decided to turn the waste from his job into items that would bring practicality and enjoyment to people.
So, woodcraft began as a hobby and has grown into a fully fledged business where every piece is handmade with care and a deep respect for the materials used. No mass production, no shortcuts. Just honest craftmanship.
"Touching wood" derives from some religions where trees were supposedly inhabited by spirits or deities. To touch a tree was to seek the spirit's blessing and/or ward off its wrath.
